Summer Day Camp 2024

As of July 28 all camps are fall.

We are very excited to once again operate our 8-week summer day camp program. Last year it was completely full so don't wait and register today! There are limited spaces available for each week. Registration begins March 1st, 2024.

Why send your child to our summer camp? Our Summer Camp program is an introduction to sprint canoeing and kayaking. This camp is great way to get your kids to experience the outdoors while learning about water safety essentials and developing skills and confidence in flat water canoeing, kayaking, paddleboards and war canoe. Participants will learn the balance, steering and paddling fundamentals of canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. A component of our program also includes water safety and boat care. Campers will be asked about swim proficiency, and staff will evaluate campers comfort level with boating during the first session and gauge programming accordingly. Lifejackets are worn whenever campers are on the water. This full week program is filled with fun and adventure while learning valuable and challenging new skills, making use of beautiful Lake Ontario in the sheltered harbour of Cobourg.

A day of camp is not complete without a variety of land-based activities such as co-operative group games, fun team sports such as soccer baseball and capture the flag, plus arts & crafts are also part of the program.

All of our summer staff are certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) with a minimum Canoe Kids Community Coach certification. They are also all first aid certified, and competent paddlers and swimmers. With safety as the first priority, having fun in a knowledgeable, social, and cooperative environment are key components to this fun filled camp program. .
